Q. How long does it take to have a custom made stamp made? A. In most cases, we can have your stamp made and ready for collection or delivery within three working days. Large orders will take a little longer. (For Personalised Stamps as described in the Craft section, the lead time is seven working days)
Q. How long does the ink last in a self inking stamp? A. There is enough ink for thousands of stamp impressions. When the ink runs out, you simply replace the ink pad.
Q. Can I re-ink the pad in a self inking stamp? A. The manufacturers recommend that you do not re-ink the pad. The main reason is if you use the wrong type of ink you could ruin your stamp. If you prefer to re-ink the pad, you should make sure that the ink is the correct type for your stamp.
Q. How long does the ink last in the Ultimark Pre-inked stamp? A. There is enough ink for thousands of stamp impressions. When the ink runs out, you can re-ink the stamp with Ultimark ink. It is important to use the correct ink. If you use the wrong type of ink, it could ruin your stamp.
Q. I have a self inking address stamp but have changed my address. Do I need to buy a new stamp? A. You do not need to buy a new stamp, we can make a new rubber text plate that can be fixed onto your existing stamp to save you money. However, you might also need to replace the ink pad if the impression from your original text plate is deeply embedded in the original ink pad.
Q. Can I use my stamp on any surface. A. Stamps are normally suitable only for stamping on absorbent surfaces. This is because the ink that is used in self inking stamps and most stamp pads is water-based. Water-based ink dries by absorption only and not by evaporation. It is a good idea to check the surface for ink suitability before you purchase a stamp.
Q. Is there any way that I can use a stamp on a non-absorbent surface, such as glossy paper or plastic? A. Yes. We recommend you use a conventional stamp with a StazOn ink pad. We have StazOn ink pads available for $14.50 each. StazOn is a special solvent ink that dries by evaporation, so it will dry permanently on most surfaces. StazOn, or any other type of solvent ink is not suitable for self inking stamps.
Q. Do you sell wholesale? A. We only sell direct to the public, not wholesale. By selling direct, we can offer the best price and service to our customers.
Q. What brand of stamp mounts do you use for the custom made stamps? A. Our self-inking stamps are Colop and Shiny brands. The pre-inked stamps are Ultimark and the regular size conventional stamps are VueStamps. Conventional stamps that are too large to fit on a VueStamp are mounted on wood with a handle. We ensure all products and materials that we use for our custom made stamps are of the best quality available.
Q. What is the difference between a “Custom Made Stamp” and a “Personalised Stamp”? A. Custom made stamps are stamps that are made totally to your specifications. You decide on the size, layout, fonts, graphics etc. Personalised Stamps are stamps that we have pre-designed for you to add your personal details such as name, address etc. The Personalised Stamps are described in the craft section.
